It’s another case of “I told you so” if you see what I mean… The iPhone is now the #1 phone sold in the US, ahead of the infamous and way cheaper, RAZR V3.
So Tonio, why don’t you an iPhone already?!?

Apple has just sent out invites to a special media event on Apple’s campus in Cupertino for October 14 at 10:00AM PST.
The invite reads, “The spotlight turns to notebooks,” as you can see on the pic above.
As I was saying yesterday, this is the best sign Apple could send to its investors showing that the company will end this year with a bang and starts 2009 with a bright outlook.
(AAPL: 80.49 -6.72%) is still going all over the place but this special event will most probably restore confidence in the stock as the release of new notebooks will set Apple up with a new computer, new iPods and iPhones right before the lucrative holiday shopping season.
Some even say that the sub $1,000 laptop could be sold for as little as $800!!

Njection is becoming quite famous for its Speedtrap mashup. They are working on an iPhone version of it to help you avoid getting a very expensive speeding ticket!
“Red light cameras and speed traps are good ideas in theory, but not quite when put into practice. They have become a convenient and socially accepted way to fine drivers and increase local revenue while not actually enhancing road safety, as studies have shown. Article after article nationwide cites how red light cameras are used to increase the amount of money certain cities receive from fines, how well over half of certain towns’ operating budgets come from speeding tickets, and yet how particular kinds of accidents, such as rear-end crashes, actually increase regardless of speed traps.
Stricter DMV licensing standards should be implemented to educate drivers and reduce accidents. Implementations such as these add to drivers frustrations and do nothing to resolve major issues on the road to increase safety. Njection, however, fills this obvious gap.”
They are working on exporting 50,000 speed traps to GPS enabled mobile phones and devices.
Here is a list of some of its features:

I’m sure by now you must be aware that the iPhone software update 2.1 is available right?!
The update includes:
- Decrease in call set-up failures and dropped calls
- Significantly better battery life for most users
- Dramatically reduced time to backup to iTunes
- Improved email reliability, notably fetching email from POP and Exchange accounts
- Faster installation of 3rd party applications
- Fixed bugs causing hangs and crashes for users with lots of third party applications
- Improved performance in text messaging
- Faster loading and searching of contacts
- Improved accuracy of the 3G signal strength display
- Repeat alert up to two additional times for incoming text messages
- Genius playlist creation
But also the option to erase all data on the iPhone after 10 failed passcode attempts!!
I mean, that’s great! Let’s say you loose your iPhone, someone finds it… well, now after 10 failed attempts (if you have turned Passcode ON of course) all data will be automatically erased!
That’s brilliant!
