D3X Sample Images

December 4th, 2008 by Xof

Been looking at the Nikon D3X sample images and I have to say, it’s stunning… As a reminder, the D3x can produce 50MB 14-bit RAW files that can be processed to produce 140MB TIFFs!!

As you will see with the images are sharp and the dynamic range is exceptional. The images posted are direct from camera without any corrections whatsoever.

If this is the price to pay to be able to send the file to press without any post work, I’m in!

Can’t wait to have a few NEF files to play with!

  2. The samples are not in-camera JPGs, they are shot as 14-bit NEFs and converted in CaptureNX2 ;-)

  3. True, but did I say they were JPEGS straight from the camera? :)
I implied NEFs converted to JPEG without correction of Photoshop.
    Thanks for the comment!
