Adobe Photoshop CS4 Unveiled in 20 Days

September 3rd, 2008 by Xof

Countdown has started! Lee Brimelow is a Platform Evangelist at Adobe focusing on the Flash, Flex, and AIR developer communities and is confirmed that Adobe will be officially announcing CS4 – aka Stonehenge – on September 23rd.

“That’s right we will be officially announcing the 4th version of the Creative Suite on September 23rd. Now before you get the wrong idea, this is NOT the release date but rather our official unveiling of it.

You can register to view a special web broadcast that will take place on the 23rd.

I highly recommend you check it out if you want to learn more. Get plenty of sleep now as you will have more new toys than you’ll know what to do with very soon.”

It is also being reported that Photoshop CS4 will have GPU acceleration, meaning that it would be able to leverage the extremely powerful processor.

This is really big news and could lead to very big performance gains for large computations like filters and screen rendering. No news on how the lack of a 64-bit flavor of Photoshop for the OS X platform will affect this development.

Wait and see!
