Uber Cool Free iPhone Apps

July 30th, 2008 by Xof

pageoncepageonce

I’m writing this entry on my iPhone using the excellent Wordpress free App and I have to reckon it’s quite excellent!

Make sure you start with the photos otherwise, they’ll show exactly where you uploaded them, which for me was at the bottom of this post…

Besides the Wordpress app, there are a few free apps I’m using. One of them is the PageOnce App. An Internet’s personal assistant!

It’s brilliant really! Just create an account at www.pageonce.com and start loading some accounts. Once done, you can check all these different account at once and very easily. It’s an easy, secure and convenient way to consolidate, view, and manage your Internet lives ah!

You will have to enter your user name and passwords to each of the accounts you’d like to be able to consult on your iPhone but if you don’t trust them, just enter non-financial accounts and you’ll be golden!

I couldn’t find a way to create links, so I hope you won’t mind to copy/paste like in the good ol’ days!

Leopard Vs Crocodile

July 29th, 2008 by Xof

leopard118 Amazing images of leopard fighting with a crocodile!!

“I drove away, elated in disbelief. It may have been the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.” Ellie Rose, a reptile keeper at London Zoo, said: “Normally, crocodiles are well able to defend themselves against attack. I can’t think of any examples of this happening before.”

Absolutely stunning… The whole scene happened in the course of about 5 minutes. Then the winner was gone… any guess on which one of the leopard or the crocodile did win this fight?? Here is the answer!

Light Phenomena

July 28th, 2008 by Xof

Total Solar Eclipse

Environmental Graffiti decided to explore 20 of the most stunning images about light phenomena, and it’s quite stunning!

“The Corona is a type of plasma atmosphere that surrounds a celestial body and the most famous example is the sun’s which is visible during a total solar eclipse.

It extends thousands of kilometers into space and contains ionized Iron at temperatures of almost 1 million ºC (1.8 million ºF).

During an eclipse its shining light surrounds the darkened sun, an appearance from which its name is taken, derived from the Latin for ‘crown’.”

I wish that I could have been there to behold this total solar eclipse with my own eyes!

The most “common” light phenomenons are the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

The collision of electronically charged particles in the earth’s upper atmosphere often creates magnificent light displays over the polar regions.

The color depends on the elemental content of the particles – most auroras appear green or red due to oxygen, however nitrogen sometimes creates a deep blue or violet appearance.

Named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the ancient Greek for the northern wind, Boreas.
