Drobo - Still Droboling

Well, let’s that after almost 2 months of using the Drobo, I am still in love!
I just finished a big photo project in which I used the Drobo as main external HD and besides the fact it’s significantly slower than my FireWire 800 external HDs, it’s a fantastic companion!
I wouldn’t recommend to use a Drobo if you do video editing but for any other applications, it’s just fine.
I really appreciate that Drobo is seen by the system as one big pool of storage, so I don’t have to worry where I copy my files. It acts as if it was just one BIG ASS hard drive.
Just drag and drop new stuff on it and Drobo starts to protected it right the way.
Luckily, I haven’t had to test the recovery feature so far. No hard drive failure but I did swap two drives around just to re-organize the order of the drives by size and Drobo just took care of everything ah!
If you are interested in getting one, go to the DroboStore and be sure to use this special code: EVMICHOT so you get the $25 instant rebate. Act soon, because the $25 rebate expires on June 30th, 2008.
