Back in November 2006, Google lost a copyright infringement case over Google News and with settlement negotiations going so slowly, the Copiepresse agency decided it’s time to ask the court to step in.
Copiepress wants damages of €49 million or $77 million, as Reuters reports.
“A Belgian court ruled last year that Google could not continue to reproduce extracts from Belgian newspapers on its news search engine, endangering one of Google’s most popular services if other courts followed.
Google had appealed the ruling but agreed at the same time to try to negotiate an agreement outside of court. Google had resumed referencing the Belgian Web sites after they changed their tagging system. “

According to Michael Arrington, it’s time to rethink copyright law…
“It’s time to rethink copyright laws, and it’s time for copyright holders to rethink their business models. The winners won’t be the companies that win or lose billion dollar lawsuits. It’ll be the companies that throw out everything that’s come before, and build new businesses around the natural behavior of people. Remove friction and win.”
At least the Internet Copyright law that is.
My point is that any form of creation must be retributated if re-used in one form or another.

But Tichy was also fascinated with photography and female forms, since he couldn’t afford a camera, he decided to make one from tin cans, spectacle lenses and other junk he found on the street!
And it worked!!

Jamie Livingston took a photo every day for eighteen years, until the day he died, using a Polaroid SX-70 camera.
He called the project “Photo of the Day” and presumably planned to collect them at some point — had he lived. He died on October 25, 1997 — his 41st birthday.
