Christmas is only a few days away and if you are like me, you haven’t bought all your presents ah!
Well, here are a few suggestions that could help you wrap it all up on time!

100 Days in Photographs: Pivotal Events That Changed the World
This is an amazing book and a great gift! Getty Images archive and National Geographic identified 100 days that represent defining moments of the past 150 years…
From the revolution in 19th-century Europe, President Lincoln’s assassination, the Eiffel Tower’s construction from 1887 to 1889, Bleriot flies the English Channel in 1909, the Wall Street crash of 1929, Germany’s Kristallnacht, the British quit India in 1947, and more. And it’s only $23!

America’s Parks
This book will bring you on a journey through 67 of the most magnificent natural sites in North America thanks to renowned nature photographer Philippe Bourseiller.
You’ll enjoy more than 200 breathtaking aerial and terrestrial images of wild America, from Mount St. Helens to the ice fields of Alaska, while essays from three prominent environmental journalists place the sites in historical, scientific, and sociological context. $34.65
I also suggest these two books :

National Press Photographers Association president Tony Overman, a staff photojournalist for The Olympian in Olympia, WA, is scheduled to testify before the House Natural Resources Committee in Washington, DC, on Wednesday regarding the Department of Interior’s proposed revision to its filming regulations in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges.
NPPA is opposed to the proposed rule changes because they feel it would expand restrictions on still photography in the parks. Basically, I wouldn’t be able to shoot this photo in Yosemite Park if the rules change…
“An environment that allows an open and free press to flourish is essential in maintaining the democratic foundations of this country,” U.S. Representative Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) said in November. Rahall is the House Natural Resources Committee chairman.
“Unfortunately, this Administration has gained a well-earned reputation for leaking, distorting, and stonewalling, which undermines the ability of the press to serve as a valuable check on the government. The news media’s concerns over this proposed rule deserve an open forum,”
One would think that it’s a no brainer, but leave it to politicians to mess everything up!
For more information on the Department of the Interior’s proposed revisions please see http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2007/E7-15845.htm.

Our buddies at Let’s Go Digital just posted a huge gallery of photos taken with the Nikon D3 in Florence, Italy.
It’s SPECTACULAR! And I am not only talking about the city here!!
“During a short stay in Florence, Italy, I used the new Nikon D3 professional digital SLR camera mainly in the evening and on many beautiful historical places, mostly inside museums and old buildings, to take a number of test pictures.
Already various reactions of preproduction model testers and professional photographers have been published and in general one can say that the Nikon D3 is an impressive new D-SLR and a strong weapon for Nikon to (re)gain their share of the professional photography market.”
Let’s Go Digital even let’s you download the NEF files and that’s ubber cool of them! Just a reminder, a NEF file is around 12Mb and you’ll need to update your favorite RAW editor to be able to read them…
They didn’t push further than 6400 ISO but I have to say it doesn’t really matter. Just look at the noise quality starting at 3200 ISO all the way to 6400 ISO.
Simply mind blowing!!
