It seems they made it!! A 100% unlocked iPhone… These are exciting times for the Europeans if the hack is confirmed! All you need to do is to program a turbo SIM card ($80) using your own iPhone.

The process basically involves cloning the information from your AT&T SIM card onto a Turbo SIM card, then to switch you cards. This allows the Turbo SIM to piggyback on your carrier SIM, and apparently gives you full calling, SMS, and EDGE capabilities.

No card reader required but you will still need to use SSH on your iPhone, or another phone you can use in order to copy the information to the Turbo SIM.

Since the official iPhone launch on June 29, new, improved hacks are literally popping out on the Net everyday.

Of course, you can already customize your iPhone (GUI, change carrier logos, reorder the main menu’s icons and ringtones) thanks to iFuntastic!

I can wait for iFuntastic (currently v2.5.0) to be available for PPC. It still only works on Intel-Chip Based Mac’s, but PPC support will be in next version (that means any day now)!
