Remember back in April, the world’s most expensive camera was for sale? Well, it’s a done deal!
This Daguerreotype camera, was auctioned off in Vienna on May 25th for about US $792,000 (nearly 600.000 Euros) to an anonymous bidder.
The ancestor of modern photography was made by French firm Susse Freres and was found in a German attic. The Daguerreotype camera is crafted out of soft wood and weighs somewhere between 11 and 13 pounds.
I would still buy a Veyron ah!

Last January I was telling how you could get your photo in Google Earth, well, it took only 5 months to Google to buy Panoramio!
“Today, we are pleased to announce the planned acquisition of Panoramio by Google.
This acquisition is a great opportunity for Panoramio uploaders to leverage Google’s reach, increasing the exposure of their photographs to photophiles around the world and for viewers to choose from a larger universe of photographs as Panoramio becomes more widely known.
We hope to close the acquisition in mid to late June of 2007. Got questions? Go to Q&A to learn more.”
The deal is set to close in about two weeks. The acquisition will be an overwhelmingly good thing for Panoramio uploaders and viewers alike.
Uploaders will get to leverage Google’s reach, increasing the exposure of their photographs to photophiles around the world.
Viewers will get to choose from a larger universe of photographs as Panoramio becomes more widely known.
Congrats guys, it’s a success well deserved!

The big news in the gadget world today, is the Microsoft Surface table… which is basically a giant iPhone multi-touch screen built in a table (I am not even being sarcastic here). The surface table will be able to recognize your phone, digital camera, etc. to interact with them using RFID tags.
The surface table should crash in hotels and restaurants at first, Microsoft hopes to get out of the commercial use and reach your home in the next 3-5 years.
But at a rumored $10,000 per unit, you better not let the kids play on it!
Still a very cool gadget tho…

Soft Paris (nothing to do with Paris Hilton tho we’re talking about porn here) is pissing Apple with its latest commercial iGasm.
The promotions, consequently, are rubbing Apple’s lawyers the wrong way. They’re allegedly demanding that Ann Summers strip down all ads for the iGasm or face legal action.
Before we loose it, check the video…

If you use Aperture to organize, edit your photos, you probably know there is no way to share the entire library. You can export selected pictures in different formats but not give access to your entire library…
With PHPture you can view the entire content of an Aperture Library in a web browser from any computer. Pretty sweet huh?!
PHPture is open source, hence free but requires PHP 5 which isn’t included with OS X unfortunately…
