For Sale - World’s Most Expensive Camera
And it’s a wooden box! Well, it’s actually the World’s Oldest Camera : a Daguerreotype.
Daguerrotype photography, which was  invented by a French artist and chemist Louis Daguerre in 1839, produced a direct image onto a polished silver surface.
Which meant that no copies could be made, as there were no negatives.
“Westlicht, a private photo gallery and auction house in Vienna, plans to auction off this piece of history on May 26. Believed to be the world’s oldest commercially manufactured camera”
The starting bid for the camera is 100,000 euros ($132,900)! However the auction house expects it will fetch around 1 million euros ($1,329,000) which happens to be the price tag for another French delight - the Bugatti Veyron!!
For some reason, I’d rather buy a Veyron ah! Happy bidding gentleman!!
