Digital Freak V2.0

April 2nd, 2007 by Xof

dfv2.JPGAs you must have noticed, since this morning, Digital Freak has a brand new layout…

A special thanks to Kaushal Sheth and Arcsin! Thanks to their work, you’ll enjoy a cleaner, sleeker and overall nicer theme!

I guess I could also thank the WordPress team for bringing us such an amazing FREE tool!

This being said, I still consider this a “beta” release, so make sure to let me know in the comments if you experience any problem (please include your OS and browser version).

I am still tweaking the whole site but things look pretty good and stable so far…

And the new theme is not the only thing that’s new!

I have also added a few new plugins as well :

  • AdSense Manager by Martin Fitzpatrick to better manage Google AdSense Ads
  • Share This by Alex King to improve the social bookmarking
  • Sphere It to automatically show related blog posts and news articles from Sphere

I guess that’s all for now ;)

Enjoy!!

  1. So far I’m liking it, however here’s what I’d like to see changed…

    * The link to the Digital Freak Forum is basically hidden, you really should have it somewhere up top so that you can generate traffic to the forum..

    * I still think there’s a bit too much advertising, particularly the ad that sits above the comment box…it’s annoying and sometimes confusing when you rapidly scroll down the page..

Apart from those two things I mostly like the new layout.

Oh, and how does the “Sphere It” thing work, does it actually get photography and software related news / blogs / whatever and post them as articles on here?

  2. Thanks for the feedback mate!! You’re right… the new Link manager is less detailled than the previous template. I’ll try to work on that.

    Especially for the forum!!

Sphere.com helps discover high-quality, relevant, and timely blog posts and makes it possible for publishers to integrate contextually relevant blog posts alongside their articles.

So if you like an article and wanna find more about the subject, Sphere It will do it for ya ;)
